CJ Performing Arts Receives 20 DayTony Awards

The CJ performing arts department received a record number 20 DayTony's at the annual award ceremony on Thursday, June 1. 

"This is a testament to the hard work of our students and staff and the unending support from the CJ community," choir and drama teacher Caitlin Bennett shared. 

CJ Adult/Designer/Director Awards were:

  • Charis Weible - Award of Merit for costume design for The Odd Couple (Female Version);
  • Charis Weible - Award of Excellence for costume design for Godspell;
  • Rachel Robinson - Award of Excellence for set design for Godspell;
  • John Findley - Award of Excellence for lighting design for Godspell;
  • John Findley - Award of Excellence for sound design for Godspell;
  • Erin Bayless - Award of Merit for sound design for The Odd Couple;
  • Caitlin Bennett - Award if Merit for musical direction for Godspell; and,
  • Debi Schutt - Award of Excellence for conducting in Godspell.

Student/Ensemble Awards were:

  • Jacob Ely - Award of Excellence for supporting role in a play for Manolo in The Odd Couple (Female Version);
  • Sam Brown - Award of Excellence for supporting role in a play for Jesus in The Odd Couple (Female Version);
  • Patrick Boudinot - Award of Merit for supporting role in a musical as himself in Godspell;
  • Angelo Knight - Award of Excellence for supporting role in a musical as himself in Godspell;
  • Adam Cyphers - Award of Excellence for supporting role in a musical as himself in Godspell;
  • Katie Coyle - Award of Merit for leading role in a play as Florence Unger in The Odd Couple (Female Version);
  • Anna Kutter - Award of Merit for leading role in a play as Olive Madison in The Odd Couple (Female Version);
  • Lauren Eifert - Award of Excellence for leading role in a musical as John the Baptist in Godspell;
  • Caroline Eifert - Award of Excellence for leading role in a musical as Judas in Godspell;
  • The band in Godspell - Award for Merit; and,
  • The cast of Godspell - Award of Excellence as an ensemble.

The school also received an Outstanding Overall Production award for Godspell.
